What you see is what you get
When you buy an unfinished piece, you get to see the quality. Flaws or a lower grade of wood cannot hide under a finish, and you would be surprised how many low quality or faux wood pieces are masked under a fancy one. With unfinished furniture there is no hiding imperfections.

Finishing it yourself
It is not hard, but it does take patience. Most finishes that disappoint were rushed: stain, then poly, without giving each coat time to dry fully. Enjoy the process and give it the time it needs.
Why buy unfinished instead of finished?
Two reasons. You see the quality of the wood and the joinery before any finish covers it, and you get to choose exactly how the piece is finished: stain, paint, or a combination, matched to what is already in your home.
Do you sell the finishing supplies?
Yes. Everything you need to finish the piece is available in the store, and the in-house finishers will walk you through it step by step if you like.
Can you finish it for me?
Yes. If you do not have the time or would rather not take it on, CO Lumber can custom finish your furniture in-house.
Can a piece be altered?

Most people want to see unfinished furniture in person before they buy. Come in, look at the grain and the joinery, and talk through wood species, finishes and care with the staff.
